Hayden and I got married a year(!) ago on July 26, 2015, so I thought it would be a good time to blog about our wedding day! We were married at a lakeside venue in our hometown right before we moved to Houston to start a new job and medical school. Our wedding was featured on Cottage Hill Magazine’s online journal, so hop over there to view more about our big day! Special thanks to our incredible photographer Jen Dillender for our engagement + wedding pictures.
I found this quote originally on Pinterest (do you follow me?) and it hit home immediately.
As all my Type-A brothers and sisters out there can affirm, I can be way too hard on myself, but easily give grace to those around me. Maybe a little heart change and reminding myself of this quote (which is now taped to my door to see as I leave each morning) is just the ticket.
Here’s my first full hand-written quote since I began my calligraphy journey. It’s a little wonky looking, but hey, grace– right?
Welcome to the first post of Becoming!
After a few years (including time in high school and throughout college) of blogging at my previous blog Let Go of What You Know, I have decided it’s time to transition into a blog that is more fitting for where I am now, hence, the beginning of Becoming!
I hope that this space serves as place to document my “becomings”– a wife, a doctor, a home decorator, a gardener, a calligrapher, a basset hound owner, plus the many new beginnings I will adventure into over the next few years.
Expect to encounter a little bit of wedding inspiration, design inspiration, everyday ramblings, + a glimpse into my life throughout these posts.
Until next time!
